Resource Manual to Support Revisions to the UN Guidelines For Consumer Protection
Consumers International and its members have worked hard and consulted widely to produce a proposal for amendments to the UN Guidelines for Consumer Protection. But what needs to be done to ensure that the proposal is reflected in the final revised text of the Guidelines? The Resource Manual to Support Revisions to the UN Guidelines For Consumer Protection provides answers to that question.
It is intended as a practical guide providing CI staff and members with all they need to know to help us make the amended UN Guidelines a reality. It explains about why we are engaged in this campaign, the obstacles that we face, how the relevant parts of the United Nations system work, and suggests possible strategies for success - and it does all this in simple terms that non-experts can understand.
The Resource Manual also contains useful annexes with all the relevant source documents, profiles of UN agencies, and case studies from previous successful UN-level campaigns.
