Upcoming deadlines for A2K and broadband contributors
Hello all,
Here is a reminder of the upcoming deadlines for those contributing
to the A2K or broadband programmes of Consumers International:
Broadband consumer/member surveys
- By 31 December 2011, you should have earned six
activity points through a combination of referring members to
our consumer survey (up to 4 points), secondary research (3
points) and interviews (up to 3 points), and submitted one
member survey. - If you miss the deadline, you may not qualify for the balance
of your funding support (if applicable), or for travel funding
to attend our March meeting "Consumers in the Information
Society". - To discuss an extension, please contact the Project
Coordinator Jeremy Malcolm directly. Due to our press deadline
late submissions will not be able to be incorporated into our
initial report on the broadband survey, but may still be able to
be reflected in later project outputs.
IP Watchlist
- Immediately, you should confirm whether you will intend
to deliver a report on your country's IP laws and practices for
the 2012 IP Watchlist. So far, only seven contributors have
confirmed (Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Egypt, Japan, New
Zealand, UK). If you do not confirm by 8 January 2012, you will
not be eligible (on account of this work, at least) for travel
funding to attend "Consumers in the Information Society". - The deadline for delivery of the final report is 28
February 2012. - If the final report deadline is missed, you will not be
eligible for any funding for which you would otherwise be
eligible. Due to our press deadline, no extensions of time will
be possible.
Registration for "Consumers in the Information Society"
- For those seeking travel support from CI, the deadline to
register for the meeting is 8 January 2012. Please
visit http://a2knetwork.org/infosoc2012. - The final registration deadline for those funding their own
travel is 28 February 2012.
In 2012, there will be more new opportunities for you to participate
in Consumers International programmes on A2K, broadband and consumer
rights and representation in the information society, some of which
will carry funding support from CI. However if you have not
fulfilled your earlier agreements with CI, regrettably you will not
be eligible to apply.
Therefore, please be in touch with me at the earliest opportunity if
you will have any trouble meeting the deadlines above, so that I (or
the regional coordinators for the broadband programme) can help you
out.
Thanks and all the best.
